**Jacob Brooks: DSACO Self-Advocate Board Member**

Jacob Brooks is a dedicated and enthusiastic self-advocate who currently serves as a board member for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma (DSACO). Residing in Moore, Oklahoma with his parents, Jacob is a valued member of his community and a proud brother with a future sister-in-law.

In 2021, Jacob graduated from Mount Saint Mary in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he was an active and spirited member of both the football and basketball teams. Following high school, he furthered his education at Northeastern State University through the RiverHawks Scholar Program, an initiative designed to provide inclusive learning opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Jacob's commitment to self-advocacy and community involvement is exemplified by his completion of DSACO's intensive one-year Self-Advocacy Center program in 2024. This achievement underscores his dedication to empowering others and fostering an inclusive society.

As an involved and proud member of DSACO, Jacob continues to inspire and lead by example, contributing his time and talents to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
