Sarah Soell

Executive Director, has been a member of DSACO since 2006. As a parent of a child with Down syndrome, she has volunteered with the organization in numerous activities, having served on the Festival and 5K Committee, serving as co-chaired for two years. Prior to accepting the role as executive director, she was president of the board for DSACO. Before joining DSACO as the new executive director, she worked for the University of Oklahoma as the associate vice president for Public Affairs for 17 years, where she coordinated numerous events and projects, advertising and various other media related activities. Other past job experiences include working for the University of Houston, The Oklahoma Beef Industry Council and Oklahoma State University. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, she earned her bachelors degree in Hotel Management and her masters degree in Hospitality Administration with a specialization in meeting planning. She is involved in various other organizations including serving as a sustaining member of the Junior League of Norman, where she served on the board for two years, and serves as Vice President of the Cleveland County 4-H Foundation. She and her husband, Preston, along with their three children reside in Norman, where they are members of the First Christian Church. Sarah was a member of the 2003 Leadership Norman Class and was selected as Oklahoma Magazine 40 under 40 in April 2008. Sarah never turns down a hug and is excited about serving the families of DSACO.

Hannah Barnthouse

Hannah joined the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma as the program coordinator in February 2016 and is now the program manager. Hannah assists the organization with preparing and overseeing all programs, publicity/awareness, advocacy, recruiting volunteers, and general office management. Hannah received her bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications with a minor in journalism and photographic arts from the University of Central Oklahoma. Hannah has a passion for people and had always dreamed of working in a position that would give her a sense of purpose. Becoming a staff member at DSACO was a dream come true for Hannah.

Rachel Leonard

Rachel stared working at the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma in February 2017 and has taken on the role of communications and event coordinator. Rachel’s responsibilities include event planning, marketing, communications, graphic design, fundraising, publicity/awareness, advocacy, and general office management. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Relations. Rachel is extremely grateful to be working for an organization that allows her to help others and make a difference in her community. So far, Rachel’s favorite part has been getting to know the members and families that DSACO serves and occasionally taking on the role of “Tickle Monster.”
