Join DSACO and Dina Shipley, RD/LD, for an 8-week nutrition class!
Dina Shipley received her B.S. in Dietetics from Oklahoma State University. She also completed her Dietetic Internship and became a Registered and Licensed Dietitian (RD/LD). Since then, Dina has works as a Clinical Dietitian and a Clinical Research Coordinator. Dina is also a proud mother of two and her eldest, Will, has Down syndrome.
The purpose of this course is to increase knowledge of basic nutrition and motivate behavior change toward healthier eating habits over the course of 8 weeks in individuals with Down Syndrome aged 11 and up. Each session will have a 30-minute lesson, followed by a hands-on, interactive activity.
Classes will take place at the DSACO Office on Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. starting August 12th. This class is for children with Down syndrome ages 11 and up. Participants between the ages of 11 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants must also commit to the full 8-weeks, class is not available on a week by week basis.
